GENERAL QUESTIONS:
Why choose Blooming Balloons?
We know there are a lot of choices for ordering balloons, including nation-wide florists that provide balloon delivery. So what sets us apart? Creativity & quality are our best assets. We don't just deliver some cookie-cutter balloon bouquet, we create something unique and memorable for your special someone. We also offer something completely different in the twisted balloon sculptures. Blooming Balloons believes quality and fun are the some of the most important things in life. We may never be millionaires making balloons, but we are able make people happy while doing something we love!
Do you have a retail store?
Well, no. We really thought about it, but it is dang expensive! So, we've decided to remain located where we are... for now.
What are your hours of operation?
You can call for customer service from 8am to 7pm EST. You can leave a voice mail any other time, or if for some reason, we can't grab the phone in time. Otherwise, you may order online or email us 24/7. We will respond to emails within 24 hours, and voice mails within 2 hours.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. We also take PayPal, if you prefer that route.
Which hospitals in the Triangle area accept latex products such as balloons?
Many hospitals do not allow fresh flowers in the ICU or CCU wards, but will accept Balloon Flowers! We don't know of any area hospitals with a no latex policy, but we always call and verify to see if policies have changed before making a delivery. In some areas of the hospital, they have more strict rules than others.
I need a gift for a man... do guys dig these balloon things or what?
In our experience, they do! Even a basket of twisted balloon flowers brought smiles from a gentleman we delivered to recently. Most of what we do is not gender specific, although, of course there are some things a guy would like more. We've done all sorts of sports related themes and can make any delivery special and personalized to your special guy... or girl!
How can I tell the world of your wonderfulness?
Ah, shucks! Well, we do use Yahoo Local's directory and they accept reviews - good and bad. We think this is a non-bias way for customers to see what other customers have to say. Here's the link: Blooming Balloons at Yahoo Local. (mouse over and click to go to the site - our links don't look like links!) Please feel free to browse the reviews before doing business with us and add your own rating or review if you'd like to share your experience with others. We take feedback very seriously and are always looking for ways to improve. Of course, BLOOMING BALLOONS IS SUPER-TERRIFIC is good too! :)
DELIVERY QUESTIONS:
Where do you deliver?
Check out our DELIVERY PAGE. It gives all the zip codes in the Triangle area in which we will deliver. If you don't see the one you need, just give us a call and we'll see if we can squeeze it by the gas companies.
Can you deliver out-of-state?
Nope. Until we create a vast franchise of balloon twisting padawan learners, we are just a wee local company located in lovely Raleigh, NC.
Can you do same-day deliveries?
Most days we are able if you can live with a "before 4pm" delivery promise. With one day's notice we can deliver before 10am. Some of the balloon sculptures are super time-intensive though and require more than same-day notice. We can let you know over the phone if it is possible to get it completed by the end of the day.
How far in advance should I call for delivery?
Ha. See above! Same-day is sketchy and on a "how busy are we today?" basis. It's better if you call one or two days ahead. The bigger the order, the more notice is appreciated. I can promise we will do everything possible to deliver exactly when you need it there.
Can you dress like a gorilla or sing while delivering balloons?
No, we save that for our spare time. Wait -- I've said too much!
HELIUM BALLOON QUESTIONS:
How long will helium latex balloons float?
We chemically treat our balloons with a concoction of goop with allows them to float about 4-5 days. Without this treatment, they last maybe 4 measly hours. We always treat out balloons because we want to give you maximum value and enjoyment for your money. You didn't ask, but mylar balloons can float for weeks. I know because have one I can't reach on my ceiling right now that I inflated in late September.
Do you offer helium tank rentals and/or sell uninflated balloons?
No, that seems like it'd be a lot of extra trouble and I have two kids to fulfill that role.
TWISTED BALLOON SCULPTURES:
How long do balloon flowers and sculptures last?
Balloon Flowers last longer than fresh flowers. They will look like brand new for at least three days, and often will hold up for well over a week. The Flowers are inflated with air, not helium. Over time, the petals slowly deflate, so instead of flower heads drooping over or turning brown like many fresh flowers do, Balloon Flowers will simply shrink in size, causing their colors to become more concentrated. We have had many clients tell me the Flowers were still hanging in there weeks later!
CORPORATE ACCOUNTS:
Can you set up corporate accounts for clients that order frequently?
Yes. We have a number of corporate clients that send Thank You, Happy Birthday, Get Well and other Balloon Flower arrangements on a regular basis - as well as decorate for all sorts of sales meetings, events, and parties. Check out our CORPORATE SERVICES page and please call for more information.
DECORATING SERVICES:
Does Blooming Balloons provide decoration services?
Absolutely and we love it! Check out our DECORATING SERVICES for some examples of our work. Again, this is available only in the Triangle area.
Do you have minimum orders for decorating?
Not especially, although we know many balloon decorating services that do. We don't want it to be cost-prohibitive to smaller events and more cost-conscious clients. Frankly, we are lousy capitalists.
What are the procedures for arranging decorating services?
More often than not, the process of making complete arrangements for event decorating can be completed using email and phone consultations. Face-to-face meetings are not necessary except in cases where several vendors are involved and coordinating efforts is required, but we are happy to do whatever makes you most comfortable. Our plan with the new retail location is to have a special room with idea books and past events so that you can browse these at your leisure and then talk to us about your needs and how we can exceed them.
We suggest you start by checking out our website and see what we've done. Second, give us a call or email to talk to our decorating specialist and we can discuss what you are looking for and confirm availability on your event date. We can also set up an appointment to meet with you and all consultations are free of charge.
We will then prepare a proposal for you and you can review and let us know what changes are necessary. Once the proposal is approved you will be provided with an invoice that serves as a work order.
How long do the appointments last?
Your appointment will average 45 minutes. The length of time completely depends on you. We will hang in there until you feel comfortable that we are the decorators for you. Although, we do require a break every four hours or so. :)
What should I expect during my consultation appointment?
You will have a fun and stress free opportunity to review our extensive portfolio. We will provide you with samples and prototypes as well as overall planning and discussion of any theme ideas that may pertain to your event.
How early should I contact you to plan for my event and secure your services?
The sooner the better, especially on bigger events. You will probably want to call us as soon as you secure your event venue.
What are you payment terms for decorating work?
$100.00 secures the date and the balance is due ten days prior to your event.
How much does it cost to decorate the average event?
Our average is highly dependent on the type of event that you are having and the end results that you are wanting to achieve. Our average client spends somewhere in the range of $500 to $3000 dollars per large event. We have done smaller parties and events for around $275. It really depends on what you want, but we always do our best to work within your budget.
Do you charge for delivery, installation, and/or tear down for decoration work?
There is no delivery or installation fees unless the decorating needs to be completed before 9am and or after 7pm. During these times, there is a $50.00 flat installation and delivery fee because mornings are icky and my kids want dinner at night, so we feel like a charge for these out-of-the-norm times is warranted. As for tear down services, we include that charge as part of your decorating fee.
